Any one used this new battery (designed for the micro 4-site) on a PZ UM Sukhoi or MCX? A coworker of mine bought it a few weeks ago to use with his MCX, as we discussed, the CG was way off on the MCX and all the trim in the world wouldn't keep her straight and level. He handed it to me to try on the UM Sukhoi when the weather gets good enough to fly it. I'd expect to have to balance the plane with this larger battery (add more tail weight). Just curious as to if anyone has tried this battery with either aircraft yet.

I don't have the new Celectra 4 port charger either, so I'm not sure if it's chargeable via the charger supplied with UM Sukhoi. Any ideas?

Havent tried it but I would love to give her a try. CG will change on all of them when you start moving to bigger lipos. I use 1s 120's on most of my micro stuff as it doesnt have too much of an adverse efffect on CG. I am looking forward to your experience and report.

Just checked the weather for Raleigh, NC, tomorrow. Looks like it'll be a good day to fly. I'll have to get the flight in before work. I'll post my results after the flight.

I attached the 150mAh battery on my Ultra Micro Sukhoi. To my surprise the balance wasn't changed much at all. Instead of being slightly nose down (remember to test CG with the plane inverted), it was flat even. If I had more than 1 of the 150mAh batteries (compared to 2 of the 110mAh batteries) I would remove one of the 3 small screws I used to balance the plane. As a reminder, I have my CG set up at the 33-34mm mark based on the UM Sukhoi thread on RCGroups.

Weather was favorable this morning. So I strapped this bad boy in and gave the UM Sukhoi a toss. With it being fully charged, at WOT the plane was a speed demon. Took me by surprise. Throttled back to about 1/2 throttle and the plane flew at normal speed (about the same as WOT a fresh 110mAh stock batteriy). As I was expecting, with my CG setup, the plane was just a tiny bit tail heavy and boy did it show while flying. Due to the touchiness of the elevator, I couldn't get any good prop hangs/hovering going. Around the 5-6 minute mark as the battery discharged, I started flying at WOT to keep some speed on the plane. Flight time was 9-10 minutes before hitting low voltage and the motor cut off.

Overall, I think this battery is a great choice/hop up for the UM Sukhoi. I would recommend changing all the stock 110mAh batteries to the 150mAh and balancing your plane for the larger battery. Unless you have a quick way of adding/removing weights and balancing when using the different batteries, I would not recommend having a stash that's a mix of both batteries.

Sweet, I need to pick up 3 of them (for the SU-26 and P-51) adn then I rotate all my other batteries to the MCX, MSR, and Vapor!! 9 minute run times...nice.

I bought two of them when I first got my p51. They work great. And they fit the 4 port charger. The p51 handles them fine too. Haven't tried them in the mSR because I put the velcro tape on them.

My MSRs came with the 120mah lipo batts also . The spacer gives correct CofG for whatever heli you place them in ..
And they have a small black plastic spacer on them for the proper positioning for CofG , and I have used them in my MCXs also , and with the black plastic spacer that came on them , the CofG was perfect on the 150 mah batts in the MSRs and MCX and S300s , and 10 min flights with the 150s in my MCXs . ::very happy::
I have even used the 150mah batts in my MCX Tandem Rescue , resulting in 4 min flights .

Page 21 in the MSR manual shows a drwg of the 150 mah battery with the spacer .
And they work great in the new Celectra 4 port charger that came with the MSRs .
The spacer slides real easy on the batterys , and will slide right off if you are not careful .

I just checked my mSR BNF box and the batteries themselves. Mine came with two 120 mAH 14C batteries. Same color scheme as the 150s but shorter.

I did not learn about the trick of putting a sleeve on the batteries and then putting the velcro on the sleeve until well after I had velcroed the 150s.

MY MSR came with the 120 as well.... but I got mine when they were first released.
