In Minnesota your instructor will be WJCJR1 (Wayne) and will be held at a family friendly, safety oriented AMA licensed dedicated to R/C Airfield in the western Metro, Waverly, MN. Plenty of parking, shade tent to get out of that hot sun, fans bleachers, clean restroom facilities on-site and a great 360' long runway for when you are ready to take off and land. Not just for adults, children with parent(s) welcome to come learn and fly, this is a great hobby for our youths.

Your flight lesson will require nothing from you other than an interest in R/C Flight. Best thing THERE IS NO RISK OF DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE FROM YOU! The instructor takes off from the runway for you and climbs to a safe training altitude. Our training equipment uses a tandem transmitter system, the students transmitter is plugged into the instructor's transmitter via a 'buddy-cord'. Once at a safe altitude the instructor gives control to the student by holding a training switch up allowing for the student's transmitter to take live control of the airplane. At the first site of trouble, funny feeling the student may be in trouble or student's mentioning of being uncomfortable the instructor releases this switch on his controller and control immediately goes back to the instructor's transmitter.

All equipment will be provided including the instructor with 'Trainer Transmitter', Trainer aircraft(s) and fuel for one hour of flight instruction time. Your Lesson will start on the ground with a basic overview of how an Airplane actually works and progress into how the transmitter interfaces with the model Airplane and it's flight control surfaces. Then you look skyward for one hour of flight instruction with an AMA insured pilot. Here you will master the basic controls of a trainer airplane and even how to perform some basic aerobatic maneuvers.

Come join in, the sky is the limit!

Don't be SHY, post below if interested so we may set-up air time. Hours very flexible and in MN we do fly as long as it is 15 degrees or warmer, wind is below 15 and no precipitation.

Look forward to seeing you at the field,

Wayne

Wayne-
I look forward to flying with you-I'm really new to RC. I have been flying a Super Cub at Tri Valley and an Ember with MARCEE at the Metrodome. I am also getting my feet wet with Heli's. Have a MCX and a CX-3.
What I need to do is polish up on 3 channel and I have a 4 channel 1/6 scale Cessna 182 that I am dying to fly once it warms up a bit.
As far as buddy boxes go, I have both a DX5e and a DX6I with a buddy box cable.
I also have a RealFlight 4.5 Sim, but since I'm not to wild about computers, I'm not using it as much as I should.
Please let me know what is going on.

Hi Tom,

My name is Mr_T on Real Flight and I'm an instructor in North Carolina. I also have Real Flight G4.5. I usually try to host a session on Monday and Tuesday nights. I always post in the thread when the session is up and running. So if you'd like some extra help, join the session.

Tom I would be delighted to meet and work with you! I have sent you a PM and will look forward to getting together.

I would like to start with some aeronautic basics and buddy up with you on your Super Cub. Being "really new to R/C" you need to safely get air under your wings, learn in-flight orientation and your limits. If your Super Cub is on HobbyZone electronics I have a Super Cub that is on Spektrum and you can happily train on this and I will provide all equipment. A couple one hour flying sessions and you'll be feeling much more confident.

The Super Cub doesn't need much room but your 1/6th scale is a different story. Depending on wing loading of this plane she will be much hotter. My Airfield is snowed in here and until the Tarmac clears or is cleared (March sometimes) I would not be able to accompany you with the Cessna unless I procured another AMA site, you have plenty of flying lessons to learn before this plane. Being new to the R/C Aircraft hobby taking up this Cessna now would be unsafe and a mistake, many have destroyed beautiful planes on their first few experiences and this we WILL avoid!

Talk to you soon.
Wayne

PS as RCDUDE07 has invited even knowing you are not a computer lover try to use the simulator it is a great tool! Of course nothing replaces real life but this is a good second. Looking forward to hearing from you and getting some air under the wings!
