The only way to get rid of the wavey look is to de-interlace the video. My editing program has the option but I havent been able to get it to work correctly.

Very nice video from a $20 camera. You seem to be doing just swell with your Apprentice, were you buddied up this flight or were you on your own? Either way looking very good, you got her up there quite a ways too. Nice views.

Liquid, Happy I could help!! So when do you plan to "bite the tower"??Humm Never I hope....I have seen a few already come close if you look close in the vid then go back and look in events where I posted pic from the fun and fly day you will see parachute man..Well in the vid the black round things are sewer tanks. parachute man didn't make it he went for a swim I'm told sucked into the holding tank:no::. They drop him out then steer him with a 2 channel radio wind picked up and now he's gone:rip:
Its county land the club rents from..kinda in the boonies..There's been some of the guys wanting to skip land on the tower..:shocked:

WayneI was on the buddie box DX5e I haven't used my new DX-7 yet for any stick time were buddied with. My trainer is very cautious all but the take off and landings 90% of the vid I was flying. This past sunday I did some low fly overs and glide down across the runway..I'm biting at the bit to fly and land solo But being patient..I promised my wife not to bring the apprentice home in a box. I have about 3 close within 5 min places to fly including my back yard I live in a rural area and my dads 170 acres is 20 min away.. so Its killing me:laughing:..But I need more stick time to be on the safe side. My trainer has 14 years and is kinda the go to pilot at the club field so I trust and respect his judgement to when I'm ready for the solo maiden..
I am putting the Heli back together and can't wait to strap the vid camera to it..:clapping:

Sounds like you're progressing quite well. It is normal for the instructor to have the student learn how to do high approaches with power to get the feel of setting up for a landing and orientation of the plane. Depending how the pilot stations are set up to the runway, here's a tip: When setting up for the approach, point the plane towards you and you should be dead center of the run way. What I mean by point it to you is to make the final turn, and level it out straight like it's going to fly straight to you. I got this tip after 5 or so years of flying and ever since then, I've always landed my bigger planes in the middle of the run way unless there was a failure.

I have to give you mad props for being patient. So many people learning to fly don't have this. Once you have a good number of solo flights, then you will be more free to fly else where.

Good work/job Liquid1! Nice to see as RCDUDE07 said you are respecting the Apprentice, your trainer and your instincts and not getting in too deep too fast.

My student has about 4 hours flight time under his belt and he just began landing Sunday. He had a solid dozen and a half landings, most quite good. Gary, my student, is a well measured mature man who has been putting on the brakes more than I. After about 2 hours stick time I knew he was ready to takeoff but he wanted some more instruction and low speed fly-byes and I obliged however following time we flew it was his turn to takeoff and he was pleased I pushed him because he had all the skillls to handle her. This passed Sunday he almost demanded I am ready to land, well with the buddy box as well ::very happy::. No doubt I had to save the bacon a couple times but that's what it's there for and follow-up training has helped. I see in another trip or two to the airfield Gary being prepared for a solo.

Keep it up Liquid1!
