Hi to all.

I'm thinking about add a flycam to my glider, and searching on the net i found very practical the flycamone3 that also have a module to transmit directly the video on a receiver that is equipped with the same lcd screen that is on the camera.
All seems to be fine and very practical BUT.......the problem is that the manufacturer said that this system cannot be used with planes that have 2.4 ghz because the transmitter of the camera work on the same 2.4 ghz.

Now i cannot understand what is the sense of this, assuming that near all the new products TX and RX work on this frequency.

So this flycam can be used only by older systems.

Do you know if there is some same product but usable on modern 2.4 ghz systems?

I have alot of stuff running 2.4g. wall phone, wireless modem and DX-7 on heli, plane ect..2.4G is the second best thing since Ajax was invented..
Maybe some of the pro's on here will chime in..I'm a newbie . Check out spektrumrc.com..great info on the new technology..

This is indeed a very affordable leap into FPV HOWEVER I read the same as you about the incompatability with 2.4 GHz and was discouraged from purchasing.

Here's a link to ATIS's Radian FPV platform, http://www.horizonrcflyers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1069 , he was using some equipment from DPC-AV. Take a look at the thread, see DPC's website etc. This equipment works on 900mHZ.

Thank you Wayne for the link.

I read it but for me and my skills a system like that it's very much complicated.

I was looking to the FlyCamOne3 for the practical and easy to use way.

I will wait till a simple system like that would be available for 2.4 ghz too.

Many thanks again.

Gents, when you use FPV gear and are transmitting a video signal back to the ground you have to use systems on different freq's. You can not fly 2.4 and use 2.4 to transmit your video. The reason behind that is your TX puts out around 5 miliwatts of power, the camera transmitters put out close to 300 miliwatts and as such and simply blind your rx and cause you to loose the plane. My 900mhz video system puts out 500 miliwatts and has a range of 3 miles.

v11t, you could use the system as long as you werent transmitting the video back to the ground.

Yes v11T to further expand as ATIS was saying you CAN use the FlyCamOne system all you want just as long as you aren't transmitting a signal to goggles or a screen, You can put an SD card into the camera to plainly record your flight or photos to.

Is a very affordable camera but I was not ultra impressed with the quality, then the 2.4 issue if I wanted to expand it and shied away. If you just want to use the camera for recording videos then CLSSY56 found a very economical ~$20 camera that takes decent enough video and is ULTRA small/light; http://www.horizonrcflyers.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8815&postcount=4

The question is that i rather to buy a system that can do both things, record and transmit all in one and with no need to add weight and complexity.

Thanks for your suggestion.
