Hello to all ! Wanted to introduce myself to everyone on the forum. Just recently decided to get seriously back into the hobby. Ten years ago while in the Marine Corps I had some limited stick time with a three channel gas trainer left over from some guys that deployed. No formal training or learning curve , just add gas and try to fly. A month later i myself deployed and left the sticks behind. 3 weeks ago I met a local guy here in New Bern NC flying a ducted fan foamy F-4 at a local closed golf course, and was hooked once again ! Researched a bit and went down to my local hobby store at GBI Hobbies in Havelock ( GREAT GUYS ). Went in started asking tons of questions and learning how much the hobby has progressed over the years. Being just some random guy walking in and asking all these questions i expected to get some kind of flak. I was totally wrong ! The guys at GBI were more than enthused to answer all my questions and show me around. While there ATIS (Bryan) walks in, sits back listenes to my questions and offeres me some insight. Long story short I walk out with a T-28 and a sunday meeting time for buddy box training ! Have 2 sundays on the cord and cant express the fun i am having ! Its not all the flying either , I have been reminded why we all love this hobby. The group has taken me in and been supportive in getting me back in the air and offered any kind of help that i may have needed. The friendships you make while enjoying the flying are what makes our hobby so fun ! Thanks again to GBI Hobbies , ATIS and all the guys at Creekside for getting me back in the air ! - Jay

Jay Welcome to HorizonRcFlyers very happy to have you.

You have come back into this hobby at a VERY exciting time. The hobby is more approachable today than any other time previously with a more than reasonable entry fee, great quality stock equipment and interest has exploded so much that awesome flying groups like the one at Creekside are popping up everywhere.

I look forward to hearing you expand your experiences and grow, you're in for a terrific ride! Once more Welcome Aboard!
