Reviews and Conversion
of the mCX to a mCX-S300

Review of the mCX:

If you think you can't fly a R/C Heli, think again. The mCX is very easy to fly and is small enough to fly through out the whole house, even in a closet ;). The mCX & mCX-S300 are both avaliable as a RTF or BNF. Either of which are great for those bad weather days or for just learning how to fly. It's a very stable platform that you can literally put the Transmitter down on the table. It can take the abuse of falling out of the sky and running into walls, due to it's light weight. The RTF version comes with the mCX, Transmitter, 1-cell Lipo battery and battery charger. A charge will take ~15 min and last about half of that. Plug in the battery and your ready to fly. The BNF is the same except without the Transmitter. Please keep in mind, this is a indoor heli and it can not handle any wind.

Lets get started, the conversion takes less time then it takes to charge one of the batteries. Only a phillips screw driver is required to change the lower blades, which is optional. All the parts are pressed into place, no glue added.

Review of the mCX-S300:
http://www.horizonrcflyers.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=95

Your already starting off with a great indoor heli (see review above). With the mCX-S300 you also have scale looks too. Performance is about the same, although I did feel like it gained some stability (partially due to the smaller canopy). In my honest opinion it looks MUCH better then the original version. It seems to be just as crash resilient as the original mCX, I tested it's surviablility out when I was trying to land on the ledge (See pic below, it's about an 8' drop). It also seems not to get caught in carpet with the new skids. All in all, it definitely flies and looks great.

Final Thoughts:
Either way you go, with either the mCX or the mCX-S300, you won't be disappointed. It's also a great training aide to learn your controls so you don't get crossed up flying something bigger and more costly. To let you know how stable they are, I took my own pictures for this.

Like I said before, it's a very stable platform that you can literally put the Transmitter down.
