Yesterday evening I was sitting at the dinner table when I heard the unmistakable scream of window rattling military vectored thrust. Ran to the back deck and saw an F15 circling low and slow right overhead (as low and slow as an F15 can).
I’ve seen this a couple of times in the 10-years I’ve lived here in Frederick, so I started looking around for other aircraft. Sure enough, there was some 6-seater GA helicopter southbound and low… I swear I thought I saw his tail rotor between his legs. Turns out he had flown into Camp David’s airspace while the POTUS was there. I've learned that these interlopers are ordered to land at the closest airport (in this case, Frederick Airport) where they’re met by some guys in three-piece suits… Someone’s got some ‘splaining to do!
Once more around the neighborhood and the F15 turned north, swept back his wings, and wasted little time going back to work.
An hour earlier I had been flying the Mustang at the field just up the street
