We have been, at the last minute, invited to a Float-Fly. We are going as spectators as I have no float set-ups and other then the lake there is no practical runway.

We will take some video and photos and will post later. In case anyone is in the MN area this is at Bush Lake Park, Bloomington, starts at 10:00 am goes until everyone's baked. Temp 85+ today gonna be a bit warm.

How come way up north there in Minnesota you have 85F while down here in Toronto, Canada we only have 59F? Did someone leave the back door open again and let out all the heat?

WAAAARRRM! It was a bit warm and standing on the sandy beach all day without a hat or sunblock I am a good imitation cooked lobster. I knew better but all the planes planes planes plaaanes.

Fun time I took over 200 photos! I never take photos I am horrible becuase I always want to FLY. I have no floaties so today I was a spectator except for one time when I was spotting a fellow club gentleman who is 89 who lost his eyesight after looking towards the sun. An acute ailment he had but I took over, landed and then he said I'd like to see the plane fly more but I am done. Would you like to fly? HEHEHEHEHEhehe you know it buddy. I took off and flew his plane about 10 minutes more. So I made my first water landing by necessity, well all landings are by necessity at some point, followed by my first take-off and landing on water.

There were many planes from EDF floaters, different Sea Plane replicas, a few Piper Cubs, a Mini-Mags, several handmade models.

Here's a couple pictures to wet the whistle I will post more later, not 200 but a few more.

One one plane really bit it today, not sure what happened hopefully not a shoot-down but a real nice Cub got all scquirrelly in the air and WHAPPED the water. Rescue boat made a few trips to this Cub and other Deadsticks and a couple other prop killer landings and even a few weed entrapments.

All in all a GREAT time.

Photo narration, This is Larry the gentleman who handed me the controls and shared the experience of float-flying with me.

Old Piper Cub I helped assemble this morning, big plane. Many many hours on this thing. It weighed 19lbs. before it's latest paint job last year and not weighed since just CG'd.

Look at an inverted SeaWing. Looks like an alien ship when upside down I thought.

The only real dead plane of the day and it's rescue.

I'll try to gather a few more highlight pictures.
