Hi All,
I made a simple swiveling mount for my Canon A460 camera controlled by a servo. I made it specifically for my 1/5th scale Cub. It was really fun shooting the video straight out the front window and rotating it out the side window as if your sitting in the cockpit. The best part is that the camera was pointed forward when I clipped the top of a tree. God Blessed me as the branch, 5-6 foot, was dead and broke off as it hit so I was able to continue flying. Amazingly there was just a few small dents and a small tear in the covering. The fall colors looked great. I don't think we're quite at peak yet.

Cool video!!! I love it!! Have you checked into the Sony camera (forgot the name but I have one) It has a flip lens so you can adjust the angle and its 720P HD WS. Runs off a memory card with rechargable lipo. I used it on the belly of my Stearman and the T-28 Trojan as it weighs 5oz.

Bryan,
Thanks for the compliments! I bought a Webbie that was a open box item. I used it and noticed an archive burned into the screen/video so I took it back. It's probably why it was an open box deal. I'll likely get another because the ease of use and it's weight were perfect for our hobby. The Cub has no problem at a hauling the Canon up.::cheerful::

Blessings,

Jay

She definately didnt have an issue with weight. I dont have anything big enough to haul a standard camera up with. That branch made a quick appearance (and then disappearance) near the end of the video. Happy she wasnt damaged too badly!

OK let's get this straight;

The background music of you displaying camera made me feel like I was in a shopping mall.
When the camera was back in the plane and you were showing it moving back and forth I couldn't help but think of that 80's movie Short Circuit. Kinda looked like the Number Five's melon.
Awesome video, a real treat you got there.
I read your post and about the stick before watching the video, I had my face pasted to the screen when thwap wop wop wop wop. I almost jumped out of chair, scared the crap out of me!
Great video, scenery and effort thanks for sharing.

Thanks Guys! Sorry about the scare, LOL! That's funny about "Short Circuit" I thought the same thing when I was moving it around. The music in the first video is my brother playing the sax. He's got mega talent and plays in a few band in Wisconsin, one of them being for Clyde Stubblefield... the late Jame Brown's drummer.

Travis,
That gas gauge must be stuck!

Blessings All,

Jay

Ok a high end store with live music. Nice.

Just noticed this...really cool! Before I watched the plane video I thought it would look like one of those FPV videos, but with the camera shooting from within that large-scale plane, the video is more reminiscent of flying from within a full-scale plane.

My AP camera is a Canon too. It's a really small one -- one of the "Elph" models -- so even my Wing Dragon 4 can lift it with no real problem. I first did AP with a Pencam, then a 5-in-1 EDVR, then a FCO2. They all had shortcomings, and cheap CMOS sensors that limit the quality.

I haven't done AP in a year or so though. Usually when I get some time off to myself on a good day (pretty seldom), I would rather just go to the club and fly, without hassling with the camera.
