Our batteries now have to be certified by the United Nations??

From Hobby Lobby's Web Site:

Lithium Battery Shipping Restrictions

As of October 1, 2009, updated regulations from the Department of Transportation (DOT) concerning the shipment of batteries that contain lithium, went into effect. These regulations prohibit the shipment of non-certified lithium batteries.

Because Hobby-Lobby is complying fully with these shipping requirements, some products may not be shippable at this time.

We are working to meet the new guidelines and appreciate your patience while we work with the manufacturers to ensure that we ship only UN certified lithium batteries.

We will be updating our web site regularly concerning this issue.

Hmm glad I got my batteries before...

Wonder if it's just a formality or a real deal product proving inspection and certification. What brought on this sort of regulation? Recycling, fire danger, too good of batteries for the money?

LIPOS are supposedly landfill friendly. Well it would stink to see the price go through the roof, of course the in states manufacturers probably wouldn't mind. Wait a second ::irked::
