As much as I would like to keep this to myself in hopes of better odds at winning, it's only fair to share.
There's a contest going on at HH's site until Dec. 13. 3 winners will be selected for a $1,600 shopping spree. Yes, that's 3 separate winners each getting $1,600 to spend at HH.
Good luck to all who enter. If I'm not one of the winners, I hope someone from this community wins.

Definitely I am not getting political here in any way in this response. However in response to your gracious 'backing' I do and would like to fully note there's nothing for free here. You will contribute to our society before I will in turn give you my winnings.
SO! No free hand-outs only deserved sharing of my winnings to contributing members.
Finally in a closing statement I may be a bit nuts, or as ATIS or CLSSY56 may say REALLY NUTS, I even am not glutten for punishment enough to accept the role of President of the United States.
Now I am off to answer my questions and hopefully get 'our' ::cheerful:: winnings!

Horizon Hobby's new web site looks nice. This is a good way to get people to take a look at the site. SUCH A GOOD way that I think they are swamped I can't get the $1600.00 competition thing to respond.
We must be sending lots of people over there!

When I clicked on the link to get started, my Javascript-blocking utility said that a site named "Surveymonkey" wanted permission to run a script on my computer. So I Googled for Surveymonkey and didn't see any spyware accusations...so I gave temporary Java permission. Then right off the bat, they want me to give them my name, email address, and telephone number...which they say they need to notify me if I win. But they also say that I have to correctly answer 10 questions first. So why do they ask for my name, email, and phone up front?...when I haven't even cleared the 10-question hurdle yet? Are they going to Spam me and/or telemarket me with that information if I don't answer the questions correctly, then win the drawing? They don't say. For those who have done the 10-question thing...how hard are the 10 questions?
Of course, Horizon already has my phone and email, since I've made tons of orders from them...but "Surveymonkey" doesn't have that info. Call me suspicious...but the fact that I'm pretty protective of my unlisted phone number and email probably has a lot to do with the fact that I very rarely get Spam email or telemarketing phone calls.

Of course your e-mail and address are important to businesses including even the ones you already frequent. Unsure of intent but if I had to guess 'maybe' Horizon Hobby would like to send you a flyer once a year?
Or maybe they are trying to get an idea of where their customer base is coming from with phone # as an area code identifier.
I wouldn't be too concerned about it. However I do understand and have respect for your cautious nature.

Oh Yeah questions aren't bad. They are a good sampling of questions to get you to surf the new website.
Furthermore for us E-Flite fans Horizon Hobby did a GREAT job on their E-Flite site as well. VERY nicely organized.

SurveyMonkey is a third party vendor many companies hire/out source to run online surveys. You'd be surprised how much time it takes to script a survey and how much maintenance is needed with there's a huge rush on the survey. Not to mention maintaining the database of results. NC State University used SurveyMonkey to do their surveys and my work does the same. My understanding is that SurveyMonkey does not retain and use the information submitted for their use. And yes, SurveyMonkey unfortunately uses JavaScript, so you will have to temporarily allow SurvayMonkey on FireFox if the NoScript Add-on is installed.
I still cant find ESC's without doing a serach....:bang head:

OK I bit the bullet and took the test to enter the contest. Thanks rcdude07, Wayne.
ATIS...yes, what Horizon needs more than a new "look" to their website (though it is pretty) is a better search engine. They DESPERATELY need that. It's SO much easier to search for what I want on Tower. On Horizon, I constantly find myself fishing thru pages and pages and pages of items...because there's no way to focus on what I want with their primitive search engine.

Best case we both win. There are three such rewards. Well actaully best case would be if you, I and someone else here wins. Wouldn't that be funny.
Can you imagine the consipracy theories running around about HH and HRF being in cahoots if that happened? Already HorizonRcFlyers got that on a separate forum after a few started bashing HH for making quality products and charging a fair but higher price than these guys wanted to pay, I made the case the product was well worth it and WOW look out! ::tonguee:

Well, Jim Booker did comment on the message left on HH's Facebook page about the $100+ contest here that it would be his chance to win. So there's another piece of ammo for that accusation.

The winners were announced today. If you're one of them and a member here, congratulations!
